Twelve Foot Ninja

Specialising in a propulsive and hard-to-shoehorn mix of dump trucks falling from the sky and corduroy curtains on a yacht; Aussie band Twelve Foot Ninja fall somewhere between the couch cushions and planetary domination. Slipknot’s Corey Taylor said “Twelve Foot Ninja is like if flight of the concords started a metal band”. Twelve Foot Ninja said “Slipknot is like if cosplayers started a metal band” then Mum said “go wash the dishes”.

The band released a drifter’s knapsack of singles and EP’s between 2008 and 2011 before issuing their debut album; Silent Machine in 2012 with a US re-package in 2014.

They won a murder of awards, including BEST NEW TALENT at the US Golden Gods Awards, toured heavily, then ventured deep under the ocean to begin work on album Number two. The resulting “Outlier” dropped in August, 2016, and quickly shot to the top of the Australian Album Charts and garnered impressive sales around the world (particularly in the US). Later that year they were nominated for an ARIA Award for Best Hard Rock Album. Snapper Allen from Wonthaggi confirmed someone asked him what music was pumping in his car at the Macca’s drive through and he said, “I dunno”.

In 2021 they return with new album, “VENGEANCE” and a hadouken of epic story-based content which has been in development for several years.

Twelve Foot Ninja has never neatly fit into one musical genre, and true to form, their new album VENGEANCE sees them explore an all new musical terrain. In a sense, the album-cover artwork says it all – a decrepit ’80s-era arcade video game listing sideways after being piffed into the cracked earth of a dystopic wasteland by a force unknown; a place where pinball meets post-truth.

At the very beginning of the band’s journey, Twelve Foot Ninja planned to broaden their offering with a suite of immersive, premium content. Finally, we start to experience that early vision with Project Vengeance – the first leap in expansion of the Twelve Foot Ninja universe.
